March 25th 2020 - Announcements

Most Connect Groups will be moving online using a video conferencing app called Zoom. You can download this on most devices including smartphones and computers. And if you aren't already apart of a Connect Group, we encourage you to reach out to one of our amazing leaders at and join in!

Starting this Friday parents will begin receiving emails with lesson and activities that you can do with your children following Sunday's live-streamed sermon.

If you're in grades 7-12 we'd love to have you join us every for our new Friday night Instagram chats at 7pm. Come say hello at - it's going to be so much fun!

At 7pm on Tuesday nights you will receive a weekly email from the leadership at Oceanside. It will include any updates from the church and areas that we can pray for. We encourage families to join us Tuesday evenings for a time of corporate worship from your own home.

The interactive live stream is continuing every Monday Night on our Youtube channel - Even if you haven't taken part thus far, we'd love to have you jump in with us!

Because we are no longer able to meet together, we've changed the way that you can sew into the church. You can now find the three methods for giving on

March 13th 2020 - Sunday Gathering Now Live-streamed

Dear Oceanside Church,

As you are all aware BC’s Provincial Health Officer has asked that all gatherings of 250 people or more people in BC be suspended until further notice. As the Oceanside Church Eldership Team continues to look towards the Ministry of Health for guidance on Covid-19 we are announcing that Oceanside’s Sunday Services will take place via Live-Stream until further notice.

Starting this Sunday, March 15th, join us at on Youtube or at at 9:30am to view the live-steam. We’ll have acoustic worship, a message, as well as prayer and announcements into the current situation.

We encourage you not to be fearful in these times as God has NOT given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and of a sound mind (1 Timothy 1:7). We are praying that anxiety and fear won’t govern our communities; but rather that “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7). We also pray that we all find opportunity to share comfort, hope, and perhaps even supplies with our neighbours during this trying time.

This Sunday we also encourage you to consider watching the live-stream with a couple others as we gather together in smaller numbers around Nanaimo. Let us not shy away from God’s community at this time, but also be wise and sensible with a heart to obey the advice of our government as they work hard to keep the vulnerable safe.

If you have a fever or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, we would encourage you to call your family doctor or call 811 to speak to a qualified health care professional and to seek testing if advised. Additionally, please reach out to your group leaders so we can be in prayer for you.

With love and full of faith,
The Oceanside Church Eldership Team
