As His Devoted Disciples

1.1 – “Jesus is our Saviour, King, our Greatest-Love & the Cornerstone of everything we are called to do”

At Oceanside, everything begins with Jesus, He is the priority from which every other thing flows. We believe He is the only Saviour, the only King, and the greatest love any person can ever encounter. It’s possible to be busy, active, and still miss the One we're doing it all for. We return, again and again, to Jesus as Lord, as treasure, as the living cornerstone who holds all things together.

1.2 – “We devote ourselves wholly to transformational discipleship, to be with Jesus & become like Him”

The call to follow Jesus, like His first disciples, is the same call of every believer after salvation. We are not simply a gathering of people who believe in Jesus; we are committed to actually becoming like Him. Discipleship is the heartbeat of our community; intentional, relational, and ongoing. We would rather count disciples than salvations, as the desire to follow Jesus’ commands is the true fruit of saving faith.

To God The Father, His Word & His Ways

2.1 – “God speaks; we listen, teach, and return, to order our lives by The Bible”

God is a loving Father who has made His path of life known to us through the Holy Bible, our lives are best ordered by His instruction. We’d be crazy not to return our lives to this loving Father, He knows what’s best for His children, and there we find the honest fulfilment of our souls.

2.2 – “A reconciled people; we desire to strengthen the weak, bind up the broken, while calling the lost home”

God has reconciled us to Himself through Christ Jesus, and that reconciliation is not just our new status, but a shared mission. We are called to be a people who strengthen the weak, bind up the broken, and keep calling the lost home. Taking shepherding care seriously, handling conflict with mercy, grace, and truth, and refusing to give up on people even when it's complicated.

Towards The Holy Spirit's Purpose

3.1 – “Yielding to the Holy Spirit, we walk in His transformative power.”

We believe the Holy Spirit is present, active, and available to every follower of Jesus to help us walk and minister like Jesus did. Our desire is to be a community that doesn't just talk about the Spirit but genuinely yields to Him, in our gatherings, in our personal lives, and in our witness to the world. We can’t manufacture what only God can do, and we don't want to settle for less than what He is offering. We yield our priorities to The Holy Spirit’s, making ourselves willing vessels, entrusting that He will fill us towards His ministry.

3.2 – “Our worship: A people of His presence, lives of offering and renewal."

Worship is far more than what happens on a Sunday morning; it is the shape of a whole life. Handing our lives over to the purposes and priorities of God, led by His presence. A people who steward His presence well, who create genuine space for encounter, and who are transformed by what happens in those places. Freedom, deliverance, and renewal are not just aspirations, they are part of what we expect God to do among us.

His Kingdom, Everywhere As It Is In Heaven

4.1 – “Through unceasing prayer, unflinching faith, and the unconditional acts of Christlike love”

We are a church on mission that is committed to a kind of prayer and trust in God that creates real consequences in the world, through acts of sacrificial love, persistent intercession, and the willingness to keep going when breakthrough awaits. We believe God rewards those who boldly ask, seek, and knock with shameless audacity.

4.2 – “Sent with the gospel, sowing with generosity, shaping generations.”

We are a sent people; sent with the Gospel, sowing with generosity, and shaping the generations that come after us. We think beyond our own congregation and invest in the spread of the Kingdom wherever God leads, with a conviction that Oceanside exists not just for itself, but as a sending hub for church planting, apostolic ministry, and evangelism. We give of our finances generously because God has been generous towards us in every way.

We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. In its original writings it is fully trustworthy and serves as the final authority for what we believe and how we live. We believe there is one God who eternally exists as three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who together reveal God’s character, purpose, and plan of redemption.

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitute for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and now serves as our High Priest and Advocate. We believe He will personally return to establish His Kingdom in fullness.

We believe every person is created in God’s image but has been separated from Him through sin. Because of humanity’s sinful nature, all people stand in need of God’s saving grace. Salvation is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Those who trust in Him are forgiven, justified through His sacrifice, born again by the Holy Spirit, adopted into God’s family, and given the hope of eternal life. We believe in the future resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous, with eternal life for those who belong to Christ and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, bringing new life, producing Christlike character, and empowering the Church for ministry and witness. The gifts of the Holy Spirit remain active today and are given for the building up of the Church according to Scripture. We believe God continues to heal, perform miracles, and work powerfully through His people as He wills.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church. Every believer is part of His body, called to holiness, spiritual maturity, and faithful service. Every Christian shares in the priesthood of believers and has been gifted for ministry. Christ has given leaders to equip His Church for works of service, and every follower of Jesus is called to participate in the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations.

WE BELIEVE:
1 – In the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing as fully inspired by God, and accept them as the full and final authority for faith and life.

2 – In one God eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3 – That the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.

4 – That God created man in His image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual, and that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which issues in actual transgression involving personal guilt.

5 – That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, a substitutionary sacrifice, according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe and trust in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

6 – In the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate.

7 – In the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

8 – In the personality of the Holy Spirit, His regenerating work, and abiding presence in the true believer. That the Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and that He has been sent to be the Comforter and Empowerer of the Christian Church, to produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the Scriptures.

9 – That all who repent of their sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

10 – That all Christians are called to a life of holiness, devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and service to Him.

11 – In the resurrection both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal banishment from God of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.

12 – That the whole company of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour have been redeemed by Him and regenerated by the Holy Spirit and form the one true Church, and that each local church on earth should take its character from this concept. Therefore, the new birth and personal confession of faith in Christ are essentials of Church membership.

13 – In the priesthood of all believers in Jesus Christ.

14 – That the ascended Christ has given various ministries or ministers to the Church in order to bring all believers to the place of Christian maturity in the understanding of truth, and the performance and function of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11; Romans 12:4-8 and 1 Corinthians 12:10 ff.).

15 – That the healing of the sick in the name of Jesus Christ is still active in the Church (Mark 16:16-18; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14-15).

16 – That God never removed the gifts of the Holy Spirit from the Church, and that the Scriptural commands to “seek earnestly the best gifts”, and to “forbid not to speak in tongues”, are still applicable today (1 Corinthians 12,13 & 14:1-39).

17 – That the miracles as recorded in the Bible were real miracles, and are possible in the present day (John 14:12 and 1 Corinthians 12:10).

18 – That all believers are called to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). That Christ is the Head of His body, the Church, and that in all things He has pre-eminence.
