Yielding ⬅ Precedes ⬅ Filling

In this message, we unpack what it means to be a people who are Fully Yielded to God and Fully Filled by His Spirit. Drawing from the book of Acts and the life of Jesus Himself, this sermon confronts our tendency to treat the Holy Spirit as a tool rather than a Person, and invites us back to lives of humility, obedience, and availability.

This teaching explores the biblical pattern that runs throughout Scripture: yielding precedes filling, and filling leads to power, not for self-expression, but for witness, endurance, and transformation.

In this message we look at:

- Why yielding is the consistent biblical posture that precedes being filled with the Holy Spirit
- The difference between the Spirit as a Person we submit to and a tool we try to use
- How Scripture shows moments of filling happening in seasons of surrender, risk, and obedience
- Why self-reliance, resistance, and control quietly oppose the work of the Spirit
- What it means to hear — and obey — the “no” of God as part of His guidance
- How Jesus models perfect yielding to the Father as the foundation of Spirit-empowered life
- What makes a church strong in God’s eyes — not activity or strategy, but yielded lives

This is a call to stop trying to fit God into our plans — and instead place our lives fully into His hands. To move from control to trust, from resistance to responsiveness, and from striving to Spirit-empowered obedience.
